Sep 2001 – Present     Tradition Financial Services GmbH, Frankfurt French and Czech Electricity Broker.

  • December 2004 Began quoting Czech (CEPS grid) prices to both Local and International customers. Prior to this establishing a network of contacts in the regional markets over a period of time. Designed and began testing Czech Trayport screen.
  • Set up French power desk in Frankfurt (now 3 people), and in doing so learnt the technical aspects of the power market, both in France and Germany. Designed and built new spreadsheets to enable more accurate "what if " pricing analysis and end of day price reporting for customer revaluations. Launched TFS French Trayport screen, and also launched Germany-France spread screen.
  • Built a customer base from scratch by consistent accurate quoting both prompt and forward markets, and by close client liason with attention to counter-party needs. Continually searching for new orders, customers and markets. From this volumes and income have increased dramatically, eventually leading to the recruitment and training of another 2 brokers in Frankfurt.
  • Boosted volumes by targeting problem areas and redeploying clients or brokers until a successful improvement was made.
  • Liased with energy news agencies and exhibition companies to further market both the German and French power desk and opportunities in the new markets in Central and Eastern Europe.

    • Writing a weekly summary of market events and economic data releases for clients. Travelling extensively in Europe to market the company’s products and services to a wide range of both new and existing clients.
    • Writing Excel spreadsheets to better enable the desk to price deals.
    • In 1999 Garban-Intercapital were voted No 1 on Czech FRA by market participants in the risk magazine survey, the department having only been launched 2 years previously.
    • A very large network of contacts in all products in the Czech and Polish local markets, up to treasurer level in many cases.
